Interfaith Dialogue in Islam at LIC

At Lloydminster Islamic Center (LIC), we uphold the Islamic values of peace, tolerance, and understanding towards people of all faiths. Our Interfaith Dialogue program is rooted in the teachings of Islam, encouraging meaningful conversations and mutual respect among individuals from diverse religious backgrounds.

Objectives of Interfaith Dialogue:

1. Promoting Understanding:
   • Encourage dialogue to foster a deeper understanding of Islam among non-Muslims and vice versa.
   • Facilitate discussions on common beliefs, values, and shared principles.
2. Building Relationships:
   • Create opportunities for Muslims to engage with individuals of different faiths in a spirit of friendship and cooperation.
   • Cultivate harmonious relationships based on mutual respect and appreciation.
3. Dispelling Misconceptions:
   • Address misconceptions and stereotypes about Islam through open and honest dialogue.
   • Provide accurate information and insights into Islamic teachings and practices.

Activities and Initiatives:

1. Interfaith Seminars and Talks:
   • Organize seminars, talks, and lectures on Islam for non-Muslims to learn about the religion.
   • Invite guest speakers and scholars to discuss Islamic beliefs, ethics, and spirituality.
2. Open Houses and Mosque Visits:
   • Host open houses and mosque tours to welcome non-Muslims and provide an opportunity to experience Islamic culture and traditions firsthand.
   • Offer guided tours of the mosque and explanations of Islamic rituals.
3. Community Engagement:
   • Collaborate with local interfaith organizations and initiatives to promote dialogue and cooperation.
